I received my BTech degree in Electronics and Power Engineering in 1998 from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, India. I worked as an IT Analyst and a Project Leader at Tata Consultancy Services, India from 1998 to 2002. I received my MS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2004 from the University of California, Irvine, USA, where I am currently pursuing a PhD degree under the guidance of Prof. Stephen Jenks in the Scalable Parallel and Distributed Systems (SPDS) Lab. My current research is focussed on exploiting the high inter-processor communication bandwidth, available on many current and next generation Chip Multiprocessors and Simultaneous Multithreaded processors, for more efficient parallelization of a number of scientific, media and desktop applications. My other research interests include image/audio/video compression algorithms, parallelizing compilers and virtualization.
